Nissan Frontier

The 2021 Nissan Frontier is a midsize pickup truck offered in three trim levels: S, SV, and PRO-4X. It’s further customizable with your choice of an extended cab, which Nissan calls the King Cab, and crew cab, plus a 5-foot or 6.1-footbed. All models get their power from a 3.8-liter V-6 engine delivering 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is an optional upgrade.

A base model is a good option with its locking tailgate and cargo bed lighting if you plan to use the Frontier for work tasks. For comfort-minded drivers, the SV trim has a few interior upgrades. This trim offers dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

If you plan to take your truck on rough terrain, the PRO-4X is the best option. This model includes underbody skid plates, off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, a roof rack, and an electronic-locking rear differential. You can tackle all types of roads and trails in this model.

Nissan Titan

The 2021 Nissan Titan is another capable truck in the lineup. This light-duty pickup comes in five trim levels, and three of those line up with the three Frontier trims. The PRO-4X is an off-road-oriented model, while the top SL and Platinum Reserve trims come with upscale features. Every trim level has the same 5.6-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The Titan can tow up to 9,400 pounds and haul up to 1,699 pounds of payload when properly equipped.

Additionally, all models include high-end technology and safety features. The Nissan Safety Shield 360 bundle comes standard with automatic emergency front and rear braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Nissan Titan XD

The Nissan Titan XD is similar to the Titan, although it falls in the three-quarter-ton category rather than the half-ton classification. You can also get a longer bed on the Titan XD, an appealing feature for people who need to haul bulky items. Another difference is in the max towing capacity, which comes in at 10,990 pounds for the XD version of the truck. You’ll need the optional towing equipment and the rear-wheel-drive configuration to achieve this capacity.

Aside from these differences, the trucks share the same available trim levels, powertrain, and safety features. They also have a similarly sized cabin, which fits five people comfortably.
